- Saving Pakistan, India and the world from total destruction.
Pakistan and I’ve been through a roller coaster ride during those few days of war in May, this year, 2025.
I’m not joking, we have returned from the brink of a nuclear war!
At first, our war was perfectly fine for the rest of the world. After all, we all have tough lives as it is. I understand. For a person from the West – why bother with happenings in the distant part of the world. We are the same, not much concerned about other corners of the world, as long as they don’t affect us.
Wake up call
Then, the Ted Talk by Someone, struck a chord of awareness all over the world. It was fine when Palestine has been literally annihilated killing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian men, women and children. Yet, the fact remains, it didn’t affect the lives of the rest of the world.
But
When two nuclear countries fight; It has the potentiel to literally envelope and annihilate the rest of the entire world. In that Ted Talk, the guy graphically showed, how it can happen, within a few years. It would start with the dark resultant toxic cloud resulting from the nuclear attacks of both countries, on each other. That dark nuclear cloud would travel to Europe and rest of the world, causing famine everywhere.
Situation accalated fast
There are several stages of nuclear war fare taking it to the brink of destruction. Within three days we were nearing the last stage of it.
Trumps’ response
God bless Trump stepping in and calling a truce by asking both countries to ‘stop it!’ Or, there were words to that effect.
It was India which started it all. (Yes, we understand why Modi did it, his popularity was taking a nose dive, (just like his Indian Air Force air craft in the resulting war!) Their elections were nearing, something effective had to be done. What better way, than to strike at neighboring Pakistan? So, it started initiating a war by blaming Pakistan with false charges and being aggressive with Pakistan. They had invaded our borders and hit targets in different parts, including Bahawalpur.
Nur Khan Base, – located a few kilometers from where I live – got hit with drone attacks.
Naturally, Pakistan had to respond, after just playing a defensive war, hoping sanity would prevail. Knowing that sanity and India don’t go hand in hand; Pakistan’s army, airforce and navy exhibited restraint for two whole days. It was already shooting down 70 drones in different parts of the country and then shot down 3 of the famous Rafale aircraft! Along with downing three more aircraft. Our air force pilots went and attacked Indian bases and returned unscathed. Whereas we captured their two pilots, one female pilot and a male one.
Pakistan is far smaller than India in size, and has a much smaller weaponry and quality of aircraft; but its the man behind the gun that matters! Our pilots and aerospace engineers are a force to contend with!
The funniest part were the memes that emerged in those days. Several of them so accurately summing up the situations in Pakistan and in India. It was pretty hilarious, if it hadn’t been so serious. Meanwhile Indians spewed hatred all over social media.
My children and my maid were surprised that I was just going about my normal life in the minute-by-minute changing scenarios in those four days. Everyone was glued to the television and phones. Then they realized that I had been through two real wars. One in 1965 and again in December 1971 as a young school girl, . Those days we had black outs and we lost half our country, in ’71.
Frankly, it is good that Trump had the wisdom to call a halt to the escalating war situation between India and Pakistan. Anyhow. War is a horrid thing, and always has been. Each one of us needs to treasure peace in every shape and form.
