Allama Iqbal’s Tulip of Sinai

 Shireen Studio’s first book is published! – My friend tells me, “Now the real work starts!”

The most EXCITING thing in my life is the printing of my first publication: yes, Allama Iqbal’s Tulip of Sinai, illustrated and published by Shireen Gheba Najib.  It contains the first two poems from Iqbal’s Persian book ‘Message from the East’ (Payam-e-Mashriq).

Don’t get scared, its easy reading in English. You will find that your heart will skip a beat several times as you go through it, as mine did. There is that ‘eureka’ moment, when you say, “Hey, that’s what I feel too!”

Imagine, Iqbal published this work when he was 46 years old. The work was obviously done in the preceding years – most probably during the later thirties and early forties.

I’m so excited, because Muhammad Qasim of Printo Graphics, did a great job of it. The quality of printing is just as I wanted.

All the time, people were telling me “you are being rooked!” I’d reply,

“You can’t have quality without paying for it.”

I’m very pleased. I want the best for my readers in hard copy (too! 😉  )

In our country, we want all the valuable things for free, or gifted!

This is my work of over twenty years as you will read how inspired by Iqbal I was here Allama Iqbal and  I. It is very exciting for me to see it now. So, these days I’m busy putting my books in bookshops in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi. So, when the book launch takes place the books are already in the shops. Also, for those living abroad, I’ve got this postal system developing, where it shall be delivered to anyone anywhere. My account is already in order for international payments. The price being $12 or Rs.1200 in Pakistan. In book shops, and Rs. 1000 if bought directly from myself – you’ll get a signed copy.

After my meeting with a video film expert, I’m on my way to getting a short video ‘teaser’ made soon. Xhezad of Coffee Cloud Photography loved the book and its theme. So, we plan to launch it around November 9^th 2017, so we celebrate Allama Iqbal’s birthday with a bang this year, as our country turns 70!

This is my contribution towards getting closer to Iqbal along with the youth of our times, and all those interested in powerful poetry. The size is good enough for you to slip it inside your purse or briefcase, and to read it as you go along your life. It is the perfect travel companion in the hills, dales and lakes of this beautiful world.

Do go for your dreams, no matter how ‘impossible’ they may seem. Iqbal’s dream was fulfilled in the shape of a country. Together, we can still fulfill his dream to become what he originally intended – a modern and strong country. My dream to bring this book into this shape has got completed.
